FAQs
Why should I use a Realtor?
A Realtor is much more than a salesperson. We provide you with advice regarding your sale or purchase, help you get answers to your questions, solve any problems, and much more. We will represent you and your best interests when selling or purchasing a home. We are experienced in working through the processes that comes with selling and buying a home and, will give you the expertise and knowledge you would otherwise not receive.
Realtors have access to the most up to date information with the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). This allows us to show you homes as soon as they come on the market. As a seller, this allows other agents to see your listing immediately and therefore increases the exposure of your home to the entire market.
Our main priority to the Buyer is to locate for you, the Home of your Dreams, while staying within the realm of your specifications. We listen to you and will cater to your needs. For the Seller, we search to find just the right qualified Buyer and, to make the process of selling your home as stress-free for you as possible.
How do I know if I’m Choosing the right Realtor?
- Determine the right Realtor for you through an “interview” or by engaging in a “get to know you” conversation
- Ask questions to the Realtor as to their experience, how long in business, etc….
- Choose a Realtor who listens to you, providing you with quality service and helping you find the best home or sell your house for the best price
- Most importantly, choose a Realtor that you trust to work in your best interest

Why should I Buy a Home?
The decision to purchase a new home is probably the biggest investment you will make in your lifetime. Whether you are buying your first home or are an experienced Buyer, it is a decision that must be made carefully.
- Build equity in something that belongs to you
*Invest in your future*
- Ultimate savings
*Save money with tax breaks you will receive on your mortgage and property taxes*
- You make the decisions
*When you own your own home, you get to decide what color your bedroom walls will be or if you want to replace the carpet with hardwood floors*
I’ve never bought a home. How does the process work?
The first step is to be pre-approved for a loan. This process will help you and your lender design a financial program, specifically for you, to stay within your budget. The experienced lender will provide you with estimated monthly payments, down payment requirements, estimated closing costs, in addition to determining the price range of homes that will comply within these figures. We can provide you with contact information of experienced lenders in the Anderson/Greenville area or we will be happy to work with the lender of your choice. By being pre-approved, this will assure any Seller you are serious about purchasing a home and speed the negotiation process.
How long does it take to get pre-approved?
Many lenders can pre-approve you on the same day. This process can be completed by a scheduled appointment with the lender or over the phone.
Can you give me a list of foreclosures for sale?
Yes, you can search foreclosed properties in Greenville or Anderson. When you find the homes you want to see, give us a call and we’ll be happy to schedule an appointment for you.
Will you let me know when new listings that meet my criteria come on the market?
Yes, you can sign up for our email that you customize and when a new home comes on the market that meets your criteria, you will receive an email alerting you. Login or Register to receive email alerts. You can cancel this email alert at any time.
How much will I incur in closing costs when I purchase a home?
This will vary depending on the purchase price of your home. However, the average Buyer’s portion can be anywhere from 3% up to 5% of the purchase price. Many Sellers are willing to pay some or all of the Buyer’s normal closing costs, based on the lender requirements. Your lender will be able to assist you with these figures during the pre-approval process.
Do I have to have a down payment to buy a house?
There are many different types of loans available, many of which require a down payment, however, if you meet the qualifications of the USDA Rural Housing Loan or a VA Loan, you should be able to obtain 100% financing. To learn more about these loans and their requirements, Click Here.
What is Earnest Money?

Who holds the Earnest Money?
Either the Buyer’s Agency or Listing Agency can deposit the money into the Trust Account, This money will remain in this account until the time of the closing of your home and then, refunded back to you per your contract. For more details, Email Us at AllStar@AllStarSC.com.

If you list my house, do I have to sign a contract?
Yes, we require that you sign an agreement that allows us to officially represent you in the sale of your house. We will sit down with you to work on the details of the listing agreement.
I have read where you need to stage your home in order to receive top dollar. Is this true?
Presenting your home in the best condition possible is very important to a Buyer. There is only one chance to make a first impression. It should be a great first impression to make the Buyer want to purchase your house, as this is most appealing to a prospective Buyer. De-cluttering a house will make the rooms more open and spacious, allowing Buyer’s to mentally place their furniture and personal items throughout the home. If a house is vacant, then staging can be as simple as the placement of a potted plant, hand towels, and/or small accessory items throughout the home.
Will you help me stage my home and get it ready to sell?
Upon the completion of the listing paperwork, we can walk through your house with you and make suggestions as to what would make the rooms most appealing to a prospective Buyer. Don’t be offended by our honesty, though. Remember, we are working for you.
How much will I net from the sale of my property?
We can prepare for you a Seller Net Sheet which will give you an estimate of the fees you will incur at closing.
How will you market my property?
All-Star Co., Inc. will list your home on our website under All-Star Properties, plus we will include your listing on the home page slideshow. We are also very active on Facebook and Twitter. We also utilize the local media, which includes Newspaper, Magazine, Featured Houses and Direct mailing. We will design a marketing plan specifically for your property, in order to get the most exposure to prospective buyers.
How do you determine my homes market value?
If you are considering selling your home, we will visit your home, and then prepare for you a Comparative Market Analysis. This CMA will show you the homes currently on the market that will be competing with yours, as well as similar homes in your area that have recently sold. We will then determine a current market value for your property.
Do you charge to do a Comparative Market Analysis?
